Telangana government is about to reopen educational institutions from High schools to Intermediate Colleges from February 1, 2021. The Telangana Government has today released the guidelines on resumption of classes for 9-12 classes.
The issue on reopening the Educational Institutions was discussed in an elaborate meeting on January 11 by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao with the other Ministers, officials from the Education department.
An official release from Telangana's Chief Minister’s office while conducting a meeting with District Collectors and Ministers reads, "Classes should be held for the students of 10th, Intermediate, Degree, and other professional courses.”

The schools will not be permitted to reopen for students up to class 6 during the present academic year, according to the Telangana State Government.
It is mandatory to conduct practical exams for the students of science stream of the intermediate courses. The meeting included discussing measures to run institutions and the possibility of regular classes in professional colleges at the graduate and post-graduate level.
CM advised district collectors to keep the educational institutions clean and sanitised as they have been shut down since March 2020. He asked District Collectors to ensure food supplied to students are in good condition and that SC, ST and BC hostels should ve hygienically fit for stays.

Telangana Reopening: Guidelines issued by the Govt
Telangana Government has decided to go with the blended mode of classes which will include both online and offline classes. Schools will be functioing as per the regular schedule as earlier with proper SOPs which are issued by the government.
Students, teachers and staffs have to mandatorily wear masks, maintain social distancing and satize themselves regularly during the school hours. Government has also stated that for the time being only classes 9-12 will be functioning.
The Government has also asked the schools to obtain the written consent from parents for students to attend physical classes at the school premises and has also appealed the school authorities to customize the seating arrangements, class routines for practicals and even mid-day meal plans.
The Government has also stated that there will be no detention policy till class 8 and the schedule for class 10th and 12th will be declared separately soon.
Telangana reopening: High-Level Meeting Update
Telangana Government held a meeting regarding the decision to reopen high schools, intermediate and degree colleges in the state on January 11. The meeting was attended by key Ministers from the government and the District Collectors at Pragathi Bhavan.

Parents Association members met the Education Minister of the state, Sabitha Indra Reddy to discuss the reopening of schools last week.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made the formal announcement confirming that in-person regular classes for Class 9 and above students will begin in schools and colleges from the start of next month.
The intermediate and degree colleges based in Telangana will also resume regular classes for all students from February 1 onwards. Accordingly, all officials have been directed to make necessary arrangements to ensure the safe reopening of educational institutions in the state as per CM's announcement.
