Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to fund the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme along with other Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
The CM requested PM Modi to share the post-matric scholarship scheme between the States and the Centre in a ratio of 40:60 respectively.

The CM stated in his letter that the amount spent by the state government under the Post Matric Scholarship scheme is much more than what they have received from the Central Government end.
The letter further read that for this year, the total expenditure counts around INR 2,110 crores, whereas Tamil Nadu is eligible to receive only INR 588.44 as capital share and this has put an extremely high burden on the finances of the Tamil Nadu Government.

The letter further read that it is a condition in which a real central sector scheme will be enormously funded by the states from their own resources.
The CM wrote requesting the honorable Prime Minister to kindly direct the Ministry of Social Justice to reorganize the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme with a sharing pattern of 60:40 between the Centre and the state respectively.
The CM posted on social media quoting that he has written a letter to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on December 03, 2020, requesting an immediate issue of funds for the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.
