Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has kept the results of many students on hold allegedly because of the non-payment of fees.
Amid the lockdown, SPPU had launched the examination form-filling process online and asked students to pay the fees online as well. A student from Yashwantrao Chavan Law College claimed that they have paid the fees for the examinations and filled out the form, but there has been no response from SPPU so far.

According to an official from Jedhe College of Arts, Science and Commerce, however, until the fees are not reflected on the account of SPPU, the result will not be announced.
Due to the pandemic, this year, the state government had announced that all students will be promoted to the next year. However, at the same time, the students have to complete the examination formalities. Students who are not in their final year will be evaluated on past performance: 50 percent for performance in the previous semester and 50 percent on the internal assignment of the current semester.

In response, students had said that if there are no examinations, then the examination fees should be reduced or refunded.
This time, the students had to pay the fees either online or to SPPU directly or to their college. According to the director of the SPPU examination department, the university is currently owed examination fees worth at least 35 million INR. Around 12,500 students have paid the examination fees. Since the university has to answer to the accounting department, it has kept the result on hold until the fees have been paid.
