The Karnataka Government has officially declared that students signing up for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state will be offered with six new course combinations. The decision has been taken in a bid to keep up with the emerging trends in the industrial sector.
On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, the Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan notified that as a part of the government’s initiative to convert the selected ITIs into ‘technology hubs’, the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) has finally approved the new course combinations for Karnataka ITI Admission 2021.

The minister stated that the new course combinations will be available in the current academic year itself during Karnataka ITI Admission 2021. However, it will be applicable to all the 150 ITIs that have been selected in collaboration with Tata Technologies under the implemented initiative.
Through his tweet, the minister also assured that the collaboration with Tata Group for upgrading these ITIs to industry 4.0 level is progressing smoothly. As part of this initiative, the government has also planned to introduce about 11 long term and 23 short term courses which are industry-relevant.
Karnataka ITI Admission 2021: New Course Combinations
Meanwhile, ITI courses with new combinations include Advance Manufacturing, Artisan Using Advanced Tools, Battery Electric Vehicle, Basics of Design & Virtual Verification which are two-year-courses, Industrial Robotics & Digital Manufacture and Manufacturing Process Control Automation, which are the one-year courses.
The final approval of the new course combinations was subject to a nod from the National Council for Vocational Education Training (NCVET). A senior official notified that in order to facilitate the new combination, the curriculum has been submitted to the Director-General of Training (DGT) in New Delhi.
Furthermore, the SCVT is chaired by the Minister, who stated that the new course combinations get the NCVET approval at the earliest, so as to make them available for Karnataka ITI Admission 2021 In the meantime, the council, along with Dr. Selvakumar, Skill Development Department Secretary, Dr. Harsh Kumar K, Industrial Training and Employment Commissioner and other senior officials approved 23 short-term (3 months) certificate courses in the meeting.
