CBSE Term 1 Exam 2021: Schools Prepare for Online Question Papers in Major Exams Starting December 1st

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the CBSE Term 1 Exam 2021 from November 16, 2021. Only optional subjects exams have been conducted till now and the main subject exams will be held from December 1 to December 22, 2021. The Term- I admit card has been released on November 9, 2021.

The board is sending question papers of CBSE Term 1 Exam 2021 for Class 10 as well as of Class 12 through online means. After which schools can download, print and then distribute them to their students in a particular time-frame.

Minor subject exams have been conducted till now but with the major exams starting from next week, schools will now have to take the challenge of printing large numbers of question paper copies within a limited time frame.

“Once the major exams get started, the need for printouts will be much higher than those for optional subjects. All these things have to be done around an hour before the exam and thus we cannot afford to have any kind of technical issues on exam day", a CBSE School Principal quoted.

CBSE has tested this system through different mock drills and no major problems have been faced to conduct Class 10 as well as CBSE Term 1 Exam for Class 12 in this manner.

A CBSE School Principal said, "Every exam centre has done preparations to organise the exams without any technical issues. High speed printers and Power backup has been arranged by all the schools".

As per another school principal, the Question Papers are uploaded at a fixed time on each exam day and schools have to download it from the official portal. After downloading the question paper they have to be printed as per requirement.

Earlier, CBSE has announced that it will conduct the 2021-22 board exams in two different phases. The Term 1 exams are Objective/MCQ type taken through OMR sheets and Schools evaluate those sheets on the exam day itself. The original OMR sheets are sent post but their scanning only works as a method of cross-checking of evaluation.
