25 September 2020: Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technology (RGUKT), Basar is planning to conduct entrance examinations for students seeking admission in B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD programs for the session 2020-2021. Admission details and direct link provided below.
RGUKT has activated its application window from September 16, 2020, for admission in its 6-years integrated B.Tech and interdisciplinary M.Tech programs for a total of 1500 seats. Applications will be online accepted until October 3, 2020.

The authority has decided to introduce the entrance examination of 3 hours for the interested students. The entrance exam will be conducted on OMR sheets.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation in the country, the central government has declared all the students of class 10th as "pass". Therefore the selection of the students for admission based on Merit is not possible this year.

RGUKT Basar Admission 2020: Eligibility Criteria
- Students who completed SSC or equivalent examination (10th class) held in 2019 in regular mode in the first attempt.
- Age should not exceed 18 years as on December 12, 2020 (21 years for SC/ST candidates)
RGUKT B.Tech Admission 2020: Selection Process
The RGUKT will prepare new guidelines and schedules for the admission process by the entrance exam after receiving a green signal from the government. The decision has been taken by the head authorities of the college including AP Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh, RGUKT Chancellor Prof. KC Reddy, In-charge and Vice-chancellor, Higher Education Commission Chairman Prof.

The IIT courses have been introduced in Nujiveedu, Idupulapaya, Ongole, and Srikakulam under RGUKT. Students having a good merit list will be offered admission to these colleges. Earlier, the university followed a merit-based admission process, that required considering Grade Point Average (GPA) or Grades in each subject at the High School level (class 10th).

85% of the total seats are reserved for local students of Telangana while the remaining 15% seats are to be filled by the candidates of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, other category-wise reservation criteria are tabulated below:

Candidates require the following documents at the time of admission;
- The application fee receipt issued by the online services.
- Admit card of 10th Class or its equivalent.
- Marksheets from class IV to class X/ Residence certificate by those claiming Local category (in any of Osmania University areas (Telangana State).
- Community/ caste proof certificate (SC/ST/BC).
- Other certificates (if applicable) required to include:
- Physically Handicapped (PH) certificate.
- Residence certificate/service certificate of parents (to claim unreserved category seats)
- Children of Armed Forces (CAP) certificate
- NCC certificate for claiming reservation
- Sports certificate

Follow these steps to apply online:
- Visit the RGUTK Basara admission portal: https://admissions.rgukt.ac.in/adm
- Click on “Apply Now” under UG Admissions
- Click on “Fee Payment” and follow the steps to make payment.
- After payment, an application ID will be generated along with fee receipt.
- Click on the “Apply” under “Application Submission” on the homepage.
- Enter Application ID, class 10th admit card and click to proceed.
- Fill all the details and submit the online application form.
- After successful submission, take a printout of the same for future reference.
