November 28, 2020: Union Education Minister of India, Ramesh Pokhriyal has released a series of Initiatives done by the School Education Department to ensure the safety of students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Union Education released the compilation of the initiative through online mode on November 27, 2020, on his official Twitter account. He stated that the pandemic has affected all the countries and territories across the world in unpredictable ways causing a public health emergency.

Referring to the compilation of initiative released, Ramesh Pokhriyal further added that the Department of School Education and Literacy has taken several effective initiatives to ensure the safety of students and faculty staff members across the country.
Some of the effective initiatives taken by the department are PM e-Vidya, Pragyata guidelines, Manodarpan for psycho-social support, and e-content circulation among the students.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the schools have also started online classes and alternative academic calendars to ensure the prevention of the virus.

He further added that even in the pandemic, schools and education departments have approached and adopted new technology to continue the learning process for students.

As per the official notice released by the Union Education Minister of India, the initiatives taken by schools, and the education department has contributed to preventing the spread of the deadly virus in the country.
Apart from the steps taken by schools, the ministry has also introduced new ways and suitable methods to ensure the quality of education in the country during hard times.
He also stated that e-learning platform along with a mix of schooling at home has become an essential way of learning.
