Rajasthan Schools: 48% Syllabus Reduced for Primary Classes; Read Details Here


Rajasthan Government has reduced the syllabus for Class 1st to 5th by 48% by keeping the pandemic crisis under consideration. However, Rajasthan Education department has set the primary class syllabus up to 52%.

Rajasthan Government’s decision to cut down Class 1st to 5th syllabus was taken to maintain and promote the continuity of learning and teaching process in students, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rajasthan Education Department has made the announcement of cutting down of primary class syllabus on its official Twitter account. The official notification tweet reads:

However, Rajasthan Education Department has not released any update regarding the reduced syllabus for classes 6th and above. Any decisions regarding class 5th and 8th Board Exam 2021 are yet to be taken.

Generally, the exam forms get released in November month, however, due to the pandemic situation this year, Rajasthan Education Department has shared no information yet.

About 25 Lakh students appearing in 5th and 8th Board Exam 2021 are confused and tensed as no decisions have been taken by either of Rajasthan government or Education Department.

State government has also decided not to reopen schools until December 31, 2020, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.

However, the decision to reopen schools will only be taken after thorough review of the COVID-19 pandemic situation across Rajasthan by the last week of December 2020.

Earlier, Rajasthan government had decided to increase scholarship amount and annual family income ceiling of students studying in Sainik Schools across the state.

According to the State Government’s decision, Sainik Schools in Chittorgarh and Jhunjhunu will provide scholarships to its bonafide students of about INR15,000-37,500. Previously, the scholarship amount was INR 10,000-25,000.
