Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra stated that there is a need to boost the participation of Agricultural Students in Agricultural Enterprises and requested the universities to organize practical courses after having discussions with farmers.
While addressing the third convocation ceremony of Shri Karan Narendra Agricultural University, Jobner, the minister stated that the Agricultural Universities require to upgrade their courses according to the regulations of the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and must include the new aspects of science, technology, and knowledge in it.

Mr. Mishra asserted that agricultural universities should motivate and inspire the youth to set-up agro-based networking and start-ups through their “Agri-Business Centres”.
He said that Universities should develop several practical courses by interacting with the farmers working in fields and their conventional knowledge can be utilized in teachings.
The Governor also highlighted the potential efforts of agricultural universities to build Indian farming more attractive, productive, and employment-oriented via research and teaching.

Stating the farmers who grow crops as ‘agricultural scientists’ he continued saying that the agricultural universities should gain an advantage from their knowledge, and farming-based practical experiments that they have grasped from their forefathers.
He further stated that even now the farmers find it challenging to get good-quality seeds, and the universities should positively accept this challenge and work towards the practice of achieving high-quality seeds.
Meanwhile, agricultural scientist Padma Bhushan Dr. R S Paroda was facilitated with an honorable degree of Doctorate of Science.
