As per recent updates, the government of Rajasthan is gearing up to reopen schools for secondary and senior secondary classes, along higher educational institutions during the first week of January.
Previously, there had been a proposal issued by the state education department to the state government regarding the reopening of schools. In the proposal, it was mentioned that schools would be opened for classes 9 to 12 on a trial basis while adhering to the safety guidelines.
Govind Singh Dotasara, Minister of State For Primary and Secondary Education said “The top priority of the state government is to ensure that our kids are not affected by the virus, but at the same time to give proper education to them is our duty. Hence, we are considering opening schools, colleges and other educational institutes. We are taking suggestions from the health department and the home department. We are also studying and analyzing what other states are thinking. The final decision would be taken by the chief minister only,” he expressed.

The proposal listed down nine precautions that would be followed by the schools in order to reopen schools. Students would be required to wear face masks at all times mandatorily. Additionally, the school should to entirely sanitized along with arrangements for handwash for students. Social distancing must be maintained among students and staff.
Students will not be allowed to share any usable or other items with each other to prevent possible transmission. Transportation vehicles of students must also be completely sanitized.
Unlock Guidelines issued by the government states that online classes will continue to be conducted. Half of the teaching and non-teaching staff can be allowed to visit the campus at a time. Outside the containment zones, classes 9 to 12 can be reopened for students upon written consent from the parents or guardians.
