Punjab Board Class 12th Exam 2021 has now been canceled by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) in view of increasing cases of coronavirus pandemic in the country. The result for the same will be released before July 31 for all students to check.
As per the official statement made by the Cabinet Minister, Punjab Board Class 12th Result 2021 will be released by Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) in accordance with the result evaluation criteria released by the CBSE.
Punjab Board Class 12th Exam 2021 cancellation was announced by the state Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Saturday, June 19, 2021, after receiving a green signal from Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
"It was also the need of the hour to make a decision on examinations as students and parents as well were worried about their admissions in the higher study courses" he stated.
PSEB 12th Exam 2021: Result Evaluation Scheme
The State Education Minister stated that in 2021, over 3,08,000 students have enrolled for Punjab Board Class 12th Exam 2021, which includes students from both private, and government-aided schools.
Therefore, due to the large number of students registered for the examination, it will not be possible for the board to conduct the examination in the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, the PSEB will now prepare the result for all Punjab Board students based on the CBSE Class 12th Result 2021 evaluation criteria released.
"As per the adopted formula, the PSEB will prepare the result according to a 30:30:40 formula based on the student's performance in classes 10, 11, and 12, respectively," he further added.
PSEB will draft the Punjab Board Class 12th Result of the students based on the marks secured by the students in Class 10th, 11th, and 12th examination.
Out of 100% marks, 30% will be evaluated by the student’s marks in the class 10th examination, and 30% will be evaluated by the class 11th marks.
The remaining 40 percent marks will be awarded based on the pre-board examination held in class 12th, and overall practical and internal examination score.
"In case of those students who have changed stream after class 11th, the result of such students would be prepared as per weightage on the basis of the marks obtained in class 10th and weightage on the basis of the PreBoard + Practical Examination + Internal assessment obtained in Class XII” the minister further added.
The Punjab Board Class 12th Result 2021 will be released by all students on the official website of the board for all students to check on or before July 31, 2021.
