Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) Jaipur, and laid the foundation stone for four medical colleges in Rajasthan, today.
The inauguration of CIPET in Rajasthan's Jaipur district was done by PM Narendra Modi through video conferencing and simultaneously, he laid the foundation stones for four medical colleges in Banswara, Sirohi, Hanumangarh and Dausa districts of Rajasthan.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on September 29, these new medical colleges have been sanctioned under the centrally sponsored scheme for the set up of new medical colleges attached with district/ referral hospitals.

As per the statement, the preference to establish medical colleges is given to unreserved, backward, and aspirational districts. However, under three phases of the scheme, a total of 157 new medical colleges have been approved across the country.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla were also present on the virtual occasion.

Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla were also present on the occasion.
During the occasion, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla applauded the PM Modi-led Central government for paying utmost attention to the health infrastructure across the nation.
Birla said that the four new medical colleges in Rajasthan's districts will assist in the development of health infrastructure in the tribal areas of Rajasthan.
