According to the sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
The event will be followed by an address and PM Modi will also visit the exhibition models of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor and Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh.

Referring to the initiative, PMO official tweet stated that the university will be established in the memory of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, a freedom fighter, educationist, and social reformer. The university
Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh is being built in an area spread over 92 acres in Lodha and Musepur Kareem Jarauli Villages of Aligarh's Kol Tehsil. Further, the university will provide an affiliation to almost 395 colleges of Aligarh division.
The PMO said that earlier, in February 2018, during the inauguration of the UP Investors Summit in Lucknow, Prime Minister, Modi had announced the set up of a Defence Industrial Corridor in the state, wherein a total of six nodes, Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur, Chitrakoot, Jhansi and Lucknow was planned in the defence industrial corridor.
Meanwhile, the PMO mentioned that in the Aligarh Node, the land allocation process has been completed, and land has been allotted to 19 firms that will invest INR 1,245 crore in the node.
Further, the corridor will help make India a self-reliant country in the field of defense production and promote the tagline 'Make in India', it added.
