Recently, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced that the Department of School Education and Literacy has officially developed an online module to identify the out-of-school children’s data notified by each state or union territory of the country.
Under the Right to Education Act, the data of all out-of-school children across the country is being compiled which will then be brought back to school under the National Education Policy 2020.
According to the tweet by Pokhriyal, the Department of School Education (DSE) will be compiling the data of out-of-school students across the country and will map it with Special Training Centres on the PRABANDH portal.
Children’s Data to be Uploaded Online
Further, Pokhriyal has also mentioned that as per the instructions released by DSE, all the states need to upload the students data regarding those who are out of school via the online portal and STCs must be uploaded at block level under the Block Resource Coordinator.
A letter has been sent to all the states and UTs, which addresses that a password protected provision is created at the PRABANDH portal for the District Magistrate/his signatory for every district to view, monitor, and validate the information about out of school children.
Post the compilation of data done via the online portal, the Ministry of Education will make provisions to ensure that these children return to school and continue with their studies.
