Odisha to be Made as the Most-Preferred Educational Hub, says CM Patnaik; Know Details Here


On Saturday, January 2, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the state government is taking enough steps to elevate Odisha as the most-preferred educational hub of India. 

He thanked the Central Government of India for initiating a numerous National Institutes across the state, due to which Odisha is emerging to be one of the leading research centres across the country. 

Patnaik thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying the foundation stone for the permanent infrastructural development of IIM-Sambalpur via the virtual video-conference. He added that with the support of PM Modi, Many Central Institutions will be set up in Odisha to accelerate the growth and trajectory of the state.

IIM-Sambalpur has managed to cast its positive impact upon the hierarchy of the educational institutions across the state in just 5 years. And Odisha has a tradition of excelling in education since the ancient times, he said.

Further, the education sphere in Odisha is rapidly transforming and continuing its dominance and emerging as the educational hub of Eastern India, he added. IIM-Sambalpur's new campus that is spread over 190 acres will be built at an estimated cost of INR 401 crores by 2022.

CM Patnaik expressed his satisfaction over IIM-Sambalpur agreeing an MoU with the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises for nurturing the local entrepreneurs, weavers, agro-based businesses, and incubating the startups. 

The main focus will be on training the youths about the latest technology and techniques and ensuring they're ready according to the demands of industry 4.0, Patnaik concluded.
