Odisha: The Odisha state government has officially announced the dates to commence physical classroom teaching in universities and colleges across the state for 2020-21 final year of UG/PG students.
The government decided to reopen physical classes in Odisha colleges and universities considering the improvement in COVID-19 for final year UG and PG students from January 11 along with teaching and research activities of PhD, MPhil, and other research activities.
According to a notification issued by the Higher Education department, the penultimate semester exams of UG/PG students will be conducted from March 16 - 31, 2021. Results of this exam will be declared by April 30th.
The final semester classes will take place from April 2 - June 15 and exams will be conducted between June 16 - 30, 2021. Results of the final semester will be released by July 15.
Odisha Chief Minister has announced that no exam fees will be charged for students who have registered for BSE Odisha 10th Exam 2021, instead, fees will be paid by the government.
The Odisha government has also issued guidelines and safety protocols for the conduct of classroom teaching which should be held regularly to complete the syllabus irrespective of coverage of some chapters by on-line mode.
The guidelines also state the physical classroom teaching shall be recorded and shared with absentee students and COVID-19 protocols must be followed by all the students, teachers, Headmasters and other staff.
Wearing face masks, using sanitisers and maintaining Social distancing is mandatory on the college premises. If needed, batches can be divided into small groups and teaching periods in a day can be extended. Hostels are also going to reopen from January 10 only for 2020-21 Final Year UG students.
Physical classes will be conducted on all days except examination period, Sundays, January 26th, February 16( Saraswati puja) and April 1 (Utkal Divas)
