On November 24, 2020, Naveen Patnaik wrote a letter to the Prime Minister to advise the education minister to set a timeframe for the students of class X and XII. Since all the educational institutions are closed because of the pandemic situation, it is very necessary to plan the board exam and notify the students about it.
Students need to prepare themselves for the boards exam for a minimum 2-3 months and schools have been closed since March 16, 2020. After the Board exam schedule is finalized, the students and their parents will have clarity on how to prepare for the exams.

Pattnaik also emphasized the fact that all the educational institutions will remain closed till December 31, 2020 for the security of students as well as the teachers.
Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, the state has directed all the educational institutions to operate from Online teaching.
The Central union education department is yet to declare the schedule for Boards and Higher Secondary Education exam dates for the academic session 2020-21.
