The National Medical Commission (NMC) has strictly instructed the government medical colleges to keep 15% MBBS seats and 50% postgraduate (MD/ MS) seats for All India Quota.
Accordingly, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has planned to organise two rounds of NEET PG counselling 2021 for 50% of the All India Quota seats and 100% deemed/ central universities, ESIC, and AFMS seats.
NMC issued a notification stating that it is mandatory for all the government medical colleges to keep 15% of MBBS seats and 50% of Postgraduate broad specialties (MD/ MS) for All India Quota respectively.
The NMC official notice states that the contribution of the seats to MCC of DGHS for conducting AIQ counselling according to the directions of the Supreme Court is mandatory.
Due to the pending court case on EWS, OBC reservation, the MCC had postponed the NEET PG 2021 counselling registration, which was scheduled to begin on October 25, at mcc.nic.in.
However, the Supreme Court hearing on the reservation policy in medical seats has been deferred multiple times, which was expected to be heard today.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has issued the Assam medical and dental admission merit list. A total of 900 MBBS and 40 BDS will be granted admission under 85% state quota through the counselling session.
At the same time, the MCC will conduct counselling for the remaining 15% of All India Quota seats. On November 23, the NMC released the mandatory rotating medical internship and anti-ragging rules.
NEET 2021 Counselling for AIQ Seats
Candidates who have obtained above NEET Cut Off 2021 are eligible to register for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats online at the official MCC website @mcc.nic.in.
Post the completion of the NEET 2021 online counselling, candidates will have to report at the designated college within the prescribed time.
Candidates have to carry the downloaded allotment letter along with the necessary documents and a set of photocopies while reporting at the institute.
