NIRF Rankings 2021: Top Architecture Colleges in India Declared; Check Complete List, Rank, Scores Here


The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has finally released the sixth edition of NIRF Rankings 2021 today, i.e on September 9, 2021. This year, NIRF Rankings have been e-released, hence it can be checked fom the officail website, nirfindia.org. 

Among the 11 categoriess, Architecture is one of the specializations in the NIRF Ranking 2021. This year, IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur have secured the top 2 ranks in the National Institute Ranking Framework, NIRF India Rankings 2021 for Architecture Category. IIT Roorkee has usurped IIT Kharagpur this time and has become the Number 1 Institute of the country. 

Earlier in 2020, Architecture colleges in India were ranked after a careful assessment of parameters pre-notified by the Ministry due to the active participation from the colleges.

According to the NIRF 2021 Rankings among the Architecture Colleges, this year, IIT Roorkee secured the first place with a score of 82.65, NIT Calicut secured the 2nd place with a score of 76.50. IIT Kharagpur got placed at third position with a score of 76.14, While School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi got placed at fourth position with 70.12 score.

Fifth position was grabbed by the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University with a 66.77 score. Subsequently, School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, MP got placed at sixth position with 65.58 and NIT Trichy secured the seventh position with a 65.14 score. 

School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, AP stood at eighth position with a score of 64.27. The Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, West Bengal was positioned at ninth rank with a score of 61.76 and the Jamia Millia Islamia stood at 10th position with a score of 57.23. 

It can be noted that most of the architecture colleges have held their previous ranking in NIRF Ranking 2020. Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, AP, NIT Trichy, and NIT Calicut are the new additions to the list.
