NIRF Ranking 2021: IIT Madras Retains Top Rank for Third Time Among Engineering Colleges in India; Read Details Here

NIRF Ranking 2021 has been declared by the Ministry of Education for all educational institutes across the country. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras holds on to the top position in 2021 for consecutive three years in Engineering Category. Among the Overall and Engineering Category, IIT Madras secured first rank.

As per latest updates, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the results of NIRF Ranking 2021 on September 9, 2021 (Thursday). Rankings were declared in 11 categories, engineering, pharmacy, management, overall, research, law, university, ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements), medical, college, and architecture.

NIRF prepared a rank list for 200 Engineering colleges, and among them with a score of 90.19. IIT Madras came to the first position. It is the 6th consecutive year that IIT Madras is in the primary ranking position among Engineering colleges.

The rankings were done on the basis of parameters such as Teaching, Learning & Resources, Research, Professional Practice & Collaborative Performance, Graduation Outcomes, Perception, and Outreach. This year also IITs grabbed first 8 positions in engineering NIRF rankings.

In the NIRF Engineering Ranking 2020, IIT Madras had 89.93 score. The score was increased to 90.19 in 2021 showing the excellence of the institute. The top 9 rankings for the engineering colleges were the same in 2020 and 2021, but their scores increased. The National Institute of Technology Karnataka was the newcomer to the Top 10 list.
