The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has officially cancelled its Class 12th Board Exams 2021, owing to the prevailing covid-19 pandemic circumstances.

Earlier, the NIOS 2021 Exams were scheduled to be conducted in the month of June 2021. However, on June 4 (Today), the institute officially released a notification confirming the cancellation of the NIOS Class 12th Board Exams 2021.
Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Union Education Minister tweeted that to ensure the safety and security of the Indian students on high priority, the National Institute of Open Schooling has cancelled the class 12th board exams 2021.
Meanwhile, the students will be evaluated on the basis of objective criteria. However, details regarding the evaluation will be announced shortly by the National Institute of Open Schooling. Further, he added that the cancellation of the class 12th board exams 2021 will benefit approximately 1.75 lakh students across India.

As per the official NIOS notification, students who will be dissatisfied with their alternative evaluation criteria will get another opportunity to improve their results through the on-demand examination which will be conducted, once the Covid-19 situation normalises across the country.
The NIOS had earlier cancelled its Class 10th board exams 2021. Following the footsteps of the CBSE, NIOS has taken the decision of cancelling NIOS class 12th board exams 2021. Other state boards and CISCE have already cancelled their class 12th board exams 2021.
