MSBSHSE Starts Exam Fee Refund and Form Filling Process for Class 12 Board Exams 2022

The Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has initiated the process of partially refunding the fee collected from the class 10th and 12th students.

Simultaneously, the MSBSHSE has started the form filling process for the Maharashtra board exam 2022 for class 12th students from today onwards.

The Maharashtra education board is refunding the fee that was collected from the students who were to appear for the board exams in February-March 2021 which was cancelled due to the pandemic covid-19.

Due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra education board cancelled the SSC and HSC exams. The state board mentioned in a statement that by following the Bombay HC order, it has decided to refund the exam fee to the respective students.

As the students of class 10th and 12th demanded the return of the exam fee, the MSBSHSE decided to partially refund the fees. Following this, Maharashtra education board stated that the students need to register on the Maharashtra board's website, where a link will be provided to get the refund.

The Maharashtra education board has taken this decision for almost three months. Earlier, the Bombay HC had directed the board to refund the examination fees collected from the students.

The direction came when activists raised questions on why the Maharashtra board had not returned INR 150 crore that was collected from around 34 lakh students as exam fee when the board exams across the state were officially canceled.

However, during August 2021, the SC rejected the parent's petition who demanded the state board authorities to refund the student's examination fees.

A bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari said that as any merit in the argument put up by the parents was not seen, they supported the arguments put up by the boards.

The court justified saying that the board had prepared to conduct the board exams, but the second wave of Covid-19 caused a lot of disruptions, as a result of which it was cancelled.

According to a notification shared by the Maharashtra education minister, Varsha Gaikwad, Candidates who have obtained the Enrollment Certificate in the HSC or Class 12 exams, and also under the grade improvement scheme can fill the application forms in order to appear for the Maharashtra Board Exam 2022.
