Madhya Pradesh government decided on Tuesday to conduct full-time regular classes for classes X and XII from December 18, 2020, as the students need to appear for board examinations.
A state public relations department official stated the decision on reopening of schools for Classes IX and XI would be made by school principals at the local level based on the student numbers and availability of teaching staff.

The directives related to school reopening were released by the state minister for education Inder Singh Parmar at a review meeting on Tuesday. He stated the MP School Education Department formed the guidelines for school reopening.
The attendance of students will be based on the consent of parents or guardians. The consent provided by them will be followed during the entire session.

The official stated that however, attendance of students is not compulsory. Those who want to study through virtual mode will be permitted to do so. On the other hand, attendance for teaching and non-teaching staff need to be 100 percent.

Activities such as prayers, group activities, sports, swimming, among others will be banned in schools, while transport facilities offered will have to be sanitized periodically, the official added.
He further said that all COVID-19 Pandemic norms would have to be followed strictly in place.
