Maharashtra Sports University to Begin with 50 students and 3 Subjects; Check Details Here

The Maharashtra Sports University announced on December 17 that they will commence academic session from 2021-2022. Initially, the university will only offer 3 subjects and have a student strength of 50 students. 

Omprakash Bakoria, Maharastra Sports Commissioner said, “We will first start three courses, sports technology, sports medicine and sports training, and will enroll 50 students for the same. We will prepare a proposal for vice- chancellor’s post.”

He further added that the state government will first hire the VC for the university. National and international experts will be hired after the appointment of VC in a phased manner to set the agenda.

Maharashtra’s Sports university will be set up in Balewadi Pune and will be a one of its kind institutes. The aim of the university is to be considered as a center of sporting excellence in the country. 

For this purpose, the Maharashtra state government has decided to allocate INR 500 crore and upgrade the existing sports complex at Balewadi. Around 213 posts have been allocated for the newly developed university.
