Maharashtra DTE Warns Students to be Aware of Fake Universities and Institutes Offering ‘Invalid Degrees’; Check Recent Notice Here


The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra has officially notified the college students and parents to be aware of fake universities and unrecognised institutes which are offering invalid degrees amidst the pandemic Covid-19 chaos.

 

Since the admission season for various technical and professional courses in the state is round the corner, the DTE has issued the notification, as in the past, many students who had taken admissions in fake colleges have sought the help of DTE. 

The live notification on the department's website also states that the students and parents must take a responsibility to verify the affiliation of the institute along with the validity of the degree.

The circular was released by the Director of DTE, Abhay Wagh who has also mentioned that the students interested in applying for the admissions to Pharmaceutical, Architecture, Engineering, Hotel management and other such courses should first verify if the institute or college is recognised under various regulatory authorities. Only after verification, the students must proceed for admissions, the notice states.

As per the notice, the degrees in BVoc, MBA, MCA, MPharmacy, ME or MTech, MArch, Engineering, Architecture, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, and Catering Technology, Planning, should be approved by either the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), University Grants Commission (UGC), Pharmacy Council of India, Council of Architecture, Maharashtra State Directorate of Technical Education, and the Government of Maharashtra.

Moreover, the list and information of the syllabus is available on the DTE website which can be checked by the students. 

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra has also issued a list of websites where the students and parents can go through the list of approved courses along with the respective institutions. 

The website can be accessed @dtemaharashtra.gov.in. The circular states that if any student is unable to access the list can call the DTE regional directorates or helpline numbers to check the same.
