Madhya Pradesh: Colleges Reopen on Jan 1 with Covid caution, Practical Session Conducted, Check Details Here


All government and non-government colleges have resumed in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from January 1, 2021. For the next ten days, only practical sessions will be conducted. 

The Madhya Pradesh government has released new Covid guidelines for colleges to prevent the spread of the virus. A disaster management meeting of all the districts will be conducted on January 20, 2021.

After reviewing the situation, a decision will be taken in the meeting, to resume the engineering, management, pharmacy colleges and polytechnics. These colleges will need to follow the new guidelines released by the state government and UGC norms. 

Furthermore, it has been informed that the varsity will not force students to attend the college. If students are not willing to come to college, online classes will continue as before, mentioned in the orders.

On the other hand, activities including, sports and other events are banned on the campus. Hostels will also remain closed for now. 

The library will only be open for collection and submission of books. Students need to bring parents written consent to attend the colleges.

Meanwhile, in Indore, only a small percentage of students attended the first day of resuming colleges on January 1, 2021, Friday. Private colleges appeared deserted, as students feared their safety and well being against COVID-19 Pandemic. Classes are held with only 50 per cent attendance.

All Indore colleges will commence classes for BCom, BA and BSc final year, MCom, MA and MSc semester from January 10, 2021. For UG first and second year and PG first semester classes will begin from January 20, 2021.
