Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves 11 New Government Medical Colleges in State; Read Full Report Here


Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has recently approved the construction project of 11 new government medical colleges in the states. The approval was given on November 10, 2021, during the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. 

With the approval of the MP Cabinet, the Madhya Pradesh State Government will start the work of inaugurating a new government medical college in about 97,452 square meters of empty land near Kanavati on Mhow Nasirabad road. 

Along with the construction of Madhya Pradesh Medical College Education Department in Mhow Nasirabad, the state government will start the establishment of medical colleges in Udayanagar in Dewas district, Raigaon in Satna district, Ghuwara in Chhatarpur district, and in Pichhore in Gwalior district.

Additionally, the medical department of the state will establish new medical colleges in Jaisinagar in Sagar district, Gormi in Bhind district, Rajasudha, Rithorakala, Dinara, and Dimani in Morena district and Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh state. 

During the cabinet meeting chaired by the MP Chief Minister on November 10, 2021, the cabinet also gave permission to start the commencement of the recruitment process for 233 academic and 228 non-academic posts in the state.

The Medical Department of Madhya Pradesh state receives a recurring expenditure of more than Rs 24 crore per annum and non-recurring expenditure of more than Rs 5 crore. The amount will be used especially to increase facilities offered by medical colleges in the state. 

The Madhya Pradesh state government has directed the medical department to set up a new Science and Commerce faculty in five government medical colleges of the state. Additionally, the department will also add three new subjects at the postgraduate level in college. 

Along with the developments in medical colleges, the state government has taken an initiative to improve medical facilities in the states by approving the upgrade of medical facilities in TB Hospital in Bhopal to the Regional Institute for Respiratory Diseases.
