Karnataka will take the final decision for reopening schools on December 20, with the State Chief Minister and Education Minister.
As per the officials, the meeting will involve the precautions and suggestions for starting the classes again amid the Covid-19 situation.
Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yediyurappa and Primary and Secondary School Education Minister S Suresh Kumar will be attending the meeting on Saturday so as to discuss the matter in hand.

The imposition of lockdown since March 24 has affected the education sector where the progress and performance of students have decreased with the lack of physical and practical classes.
The Education Department has reported that if the school's management are not instructed to reopen the classes, then the results will not be mpressive for the academic year 2021.

On December 18, 2020 the education department and health department held a meeting where they pondered upon pros and cons reopening the classes with Covid-19 technical advisory committee.
Experts have also stated that it would be better if schools were opened in a phased manner. Hence the government is giving fresh thought to reopen schools because not every student could afford online education.
