JNU: Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship to Launch Online Courses on Innovation, Start-Up & Entrepreneurship


Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ABVSME), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has decided to introduce various online programmes to bridge the gap between the management education and industrial requirements. 

While speaking about the launch of various online programmes, Professor Arvind Kumar, the Dean at ABVSME said that the management institute has been planning to introduce various “short-term & long-term online programmes''.

These short-term and long-term programmes will be offered in collaboration with different leading organisation/agencies focusing on Innovation, Start-Up and Entrepreneurship, i.e. MDP (Management Development Programme), FDP (Faculty Development Programme), Quality Improvement Programmes and Research Methodology Workshops.

Further, Professor Kumar added that the B-school will soon introduce a Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and MS in Management (in collaboration mode). Meanwhile, the institute notified the admission process for its two-year MBA programme on June 10, 2021. 

ABVSME has already become an attraction among management aspirants as it's a part of the prestigious central university. The professor also talked about gender diversity at the B-school. He said that the ABVSME has around 40% Female Students. 

The gender-inclusive diversity for the MBA admissions during 2019 was almost 30%. Moreover, there are 46% female faculty in the B-school. Situated in the national capital, the brand name of JNU attracts both females and males equally across the country. Therefore, the institute has a great gender diversity, he added.

ABVSME Admission 2021: Criteria

As per the statement made by ABVSME’s Dean, admission to MBA Programme is purely based on CAT scores followed by GD & PI. It should also be noted that 70% of weightage will be given to CAT Score and 30% weightage to GD & PI. 

Speaking about PhD in Management, Professor Kumar said that the admission is entirely based on JRF and JNUEE followed by Interaction and Personal Interview. This makes the entire admission process all the more rigorous. 

ABVSME managed to sail through the pandemic circumstances in the very next year of its establishment and achieved great placement records. The B-school is well-equipped with an amazing infrastructure with ICT facilities, smart classrooms, and conference halls.

The dean said that the institute has a team of highly trained and dedicated faculty to cope with the transition. Teaching-learning, and other academic activities including examinations (continuous evaluation) were held very effectively through online mode. 

ABVSME Placement 2021: Trends

Besides, he commented on the excellent placement results of ABVSME and said that there were more than sixty companies during the placements including Rahi Systems, Lava International, Adfactors PR, SBI, NABARD, Axis e-Corp, American Express, Big Muscles, Jackson Group, Voice of Sap, Onestack, IIFL, FIS Global, etc. 

The graduates from ABVSME received job offers from diverse domains such as HR, marketing, sales, BFSI, Operations, Consulting, Analytics and ITeS. Moreover, the students did internships with several prominent organisations including ITC Ltd. Siterecon, GE Healthcare, Peacock Solar, EY, Axis, IndusInd, Tech Mahindra, Neo Stencil, Gifts on Air, KPMG, Tata Steel, COVIDIndiaTaskForce.org, Medical Dialogues, Vardhan Consulting Engineers, Somany, Koan, Pinakulo, Petronet LNG Ltd. among others, Professor Kumar concluded.
