The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (JKBOSE) will be using the CBSE pattern for preparing the question papers of class 10th for annual regular examinations. The authority released a notification stating that the new exam pattern will be adopted from the academic session 2020 - 2021 to be held in (October-November) 2021 in the winter zone regions of Jammu division, Kashmir division and the Union Territory, Ladakh.
JKBOSE has revised the exam pattern of the question papers, which will be implemented from the academic year 2021-2022. The students' progress will be determined differently at different times as per the curriculum objective.
The notification also stated that the new pattern of question papers will be practiced for the summer zones regions of Jammu Division from Academic session 2021-22.The new exam pattern will be as per the CBSE exam pattern and syllabus.
With the implementation of the new pattern, the board will reserve 20% of the marks for internal assessment and 80 marks will be given to theory papers. The board has informed that the reason for modification in the exam pattern is to push students towards critical thinking, analytical approach and objectivity.
The JK board has released the notification on its official website. Students can also find the model question papers,updated syllabus and revised pattern of assessment @jkbose.ac.in.
Students who are to attend for the reappear exams will not see any modifications in their question paper. The old pattern will be followed for them.
The annual examinations will be held in October-November 2021 in the winter zones and February-March 2022 in the summer zones.
