Jharkhand CM Felicitates Board Toppers from State; Study Abroad Scholarship Scheme Launching Soon


Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had awarded JAC, CBSE, and ICSE class 10th, and 12th toppers with prize money in accordance with the state government scheme. The government is expected to release a study abroad scholarship scheme for students soon.

On December 03, 2020, Chief Minister Hemant Soren awarded JAC Board, CISCE, and CBSE Class 10th and 12th toppers with a cash prize of INR 3 lakh at project building. 

During the event, the Chief Minister stated that the state government will introduce scholarship schemes for students who want to pursue their further education abroad.

For meritorious students who wish to pursue their higher education abroad, the government will soon provide a scholarship scheme for financial support. He said, “A scholarship scheme will soon be launched in Jharkhand for the students who want to study in foreign countries.”

Jharkhand CM Rewards JAC, CBSE, CISCE Class 10th, 12th Toppers 

Chief Minister has awarded 13 class 10th and 12th students who scored highest marks in various boards including the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)

In 2020, a total of 47 students were awarded prize money. Schools were also selected for Mukhyamantri Swachch Vidyalaya Purashakar and were honored by the Chief Minister.

Along with students, a total of 119 schools in the states was also selected for award distribution, during which cash reward from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh was given on the basis of star ratings of schools. 

The 1st Topper of CBSE Class 12th board examination for various boards has received prize money of INR 3 Lakh, while the second topper received 2 Lakh, and the third topper was awarded INR 1 Lakh each. 

Similarly, for the class 10th board examination, the first topper who scored the highest marks was rewarded with INR 1 Lakh, the second topper with INR 75,000, and the third topper was awarded prize money of INR 50,000 each.

Referring to the achievement of students, the Chief Minister said, “Coronavirus lockdown delayed the function this year. But, from next year onwards, we will try to provide it one month after the announcement of results so that meritorious students do not suffer for admission in higher classes.”

He further added that to promote education and support students, Jharkhand Government decided to award the JAC, CISCE, and CBSE Class 10th, and 12th toppers with cash prizes this year. Along with awarding cash money, the government is planning unique programs and schemes for students.

Referring to the award received, Class 12th topper Amit Kumar said, “I had worked hard for the examination but never knew that I would be a topper and a recipient of such cash reward. I would like to thank the government for encouraging me.”

While class 10th board topper of JAC Board, Manish Kumar who received 98% marks from Netarhat Residential School said, “The cash award will help in his further education”.

Students of ICSE Board class 12th showed their gratitude towards the price distribution and added that the award will encourage students to pay more attention to their higher education.
