Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has planned to conduct the Jharkhand Board Examination 2021 for classes 10 and 12 from March 9 to 26, 2021. Strict COVID 19 protocols will be followed while conducting the examination, officials stated on January 4, 2021.
JAC held a high-level meeting on January 4, 2021, to take a decision on conducting the Jharkhand Board Examination 2021 and announced the dates for examination after the meeting.
Arvind Prasad Singh, the chairman of JAC stated, “The board examinations will be held in two shifts. The examination of matriculation will be taken in the first shift, while the intermediate examination in the second shift.” The detailed schedule of the examination will be provided in a day or two, Singh informed.

A JAC official informed that the examination for classes 8,9 and 11 will be conducted in April 2021. The decision regarding this was also taken in the high-level meeting of the JAC conducted on January 4, 2021.
Every year, around seven lakh students from classes 10 and 12 attend the Jharkhand Board Examination. In the year 2020, more than 3.87 students have appeared for the class 10 board examination and around 2.34 students have appeared for the class 12 board examination which comprises science, commerce and arts streams.
The registration for Jharkhand board examination 2021 has begun on January 2, 2021. Usually, the board examinations were conducted for classes 10 and 12 in February 2021. But because of the lockdown imposed because of the COVID 19 global pandemic, the board examination was postponed this year.

The JAC has revised the question pattern for the Jharkhand Board Examination considering the closure of schools since March 2020. Compared to the previous years, there will be more objective type questions this year. Depending upon the subjects, there would be 30 - 40 per cent objective type questions.
The schools in Jharkhand were permitted to be reopened for classes 10 to 12 from December 21, 2020. The syllabus for class 10 and 12 was reduced by 40% by the state education and literacy department because of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.
In Mathematics and Science, many subject topics were removed. The chapters which the students would have studied in class 9 have been removed from the syllabus of class 10. The reduction in class 12 syllabus also follows the same criteria.
The officials stated that the digital content which was provided to the students at the time of lockdown which was imposed because of the COVID 19 pandemic have been kept intact in the syllabus.
