Assam Police finally arrested the proxy candidate Pradip Kumar who had attended the Joint entrance exam mains on behalf of Neel Nakshatra Das and secured 99.8% marks.
The police caught the candidate on November 29, 2020 in Delhi and will be brought to Guwahati Court for Decision.
Police have suspected that Pradip is a professional proxy Candidate and has impersonated many candidates in the competitive exams.
On November 1, the police arrested the owner of coaching center Bhargav Deka where already 7 people have been found guilty.
The Assam Government has appointed a Special Investigation Team led by deputy commissioner of police to find the depth of the scam.
One of the olive officials said that the scam involves several people and the full racket will be unveiled in a matter of time.

Guwahati police commissioner, Munna Prasad has informed that the proxy Candidate's father and three other conspirators have been arrested on October 28 and have approached NTA as well for investigation.
The exam was conducted on September 5 and the centre was sealed off with management at question.It is suspected that examiners and other officials are also involved in the scam.
As per the police, Pradip has admitted to his acts in a phone conversation. The plan has been executed well where the original candidates walked off the examination center after the biometric verification and then Pradip entered the exam hall with the help of invigilator and gave the CBT test on behalf of Neel.
In Assam most of the candidates did not sit for the JEE main exam due to Covid-19 situation.
