On November 29, 2020, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab Open University is scheduled to conduct an online webinar to celebrate the “Significance of Open University System: Realization of the vision of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev".
Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab Open University was established on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev in 2019. At the online International Webinar, the university will also introduce educational programs for students, and discuss ideas on Punjabi Culture.
The Online International Webinar will include a two-session discussion panel to discuss various opportunities, ideas, and youth support programs in various fields.
During the first discussion panel, Vice Chancellors of various universities will share their ideas and experience on the challenges and opportunities of the open university.

While, for the second discussion panel, authorities from various countries including the USA, UK, Australia, and Dubai along with Shri Dr. Surjit Patar will share their ideas on Punjabi Culture and Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab Open University support to Punjabi culture.
As per the Vice-Chancellor prof Karamjee Singh’s statement, the University will introduce the vision of "Sarbat Da Bhalla" to support the employability and progress of youth in Punjab state.
The aim of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab Open University is to bring together Pujab Diaspora across the world in a single platform and achieve its objectives.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Karamjeet Singh stated that various members of the university will participate in the international webinar including CM Capt. Amarinder Singh, and Minister of Higher Education, Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa.
Secretary UGC Prof Rajinish Jain, Additional Director General, and Department of Higher Education, Government of Indian Madan Mohan, will also join the event.
Along with the members of the university, Professor Nageshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University will begin keynote addressing of the webinar.
