In partnership with TECC, the Taiwan government representative office in India, the programme is being undertaken and its objective is to promote Taiwan and India’s bilateral relations in the areas including investment, media, trade, economy, culture, education, tourism, and science & technology.

IIT Ropar Director, Professor Ahuja said that the institute decided to offer a course in the Mandarin language as few of the IIT Ropar students had shown a keen interest in learning the Mandarin language.

Further, opportunities in Taiwan are emerging in terms of academics, placements, and research. Hence, the Taiwanese universities are looking forward to partnering with the IIT Ropar and the rising dynamism between India and Taiwan, that will open a door full of opportunities for the students, Prof Ahuja added.
