IIT Ropar: 318 Degrees Awarded at Convocation Ceremony; Read Full Story


Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar has conducted their 9th annual convocation ceremony virtually and, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof K Vijay Raghvan was the chief guest of the event.

In the virtually conducted convocation ceremony at IIT Ropar, 318 students were awarded degrees. The following section gives the number of students who were awarded degrees in various courses.

Mohit Raj Saxena from the Mechanical Engineering department, Shahariar Sarkar from the Physics department, and Subhajyoti Samanta from the Chemistry department were awarded the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award. 

Peeyush Mahajan from Mechanical Engineering was awarded the first prize for Sunny Oberoi Best MTech Thesis Award.

G Nithin Reddy from Electrical Engineering and Ankita Dey from Biomedical Engineering were awarded the second and third prizes for Sunny Oberoi Best MTech Thesis Award respectively.

IIT Ropar awards the President Gold Medal for obtaining the highest CGPA amongst the graduating students and Director Gold Medal was awarded for the best all-round performance amongst graduating students.

Harnit Singh Sudan from B.Tech Electrical Engineering was awarded the President Gold Medal in the ninth annual convocation ceremony at IIT Ropar.

Komal from BTech Computer Science and Engineering Department was awarded the Director Gold Medal at the IIT Ropar’s convocation ceremony.
