New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna's department of physics has launched a new Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme with a focus on Engineering Physics. The curriculum seeks to give students a solid foundation in physics and expose them to cutting-edge technologies.

According to the reports, apart from IIT Patna B.Tech in Engineering Physics programme has also been offered by other IITs including IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and IIT Bombay whereas IIT BHU offers a 5-year integrated M.Tech programme in Engineering Science.

B.Tech in Engineering Physics Programme Structure 

The 4-year undergraduate BTech in Engineering programme is divided into eight semesters whereas each academic session is equally divided in two semesters. The first Semester is from July to December and the second semester is from January to May.

However, the students will have to study approximately 7-8 subjects every semester i.e. Electrical Sciences, Mathematics 1, Engineering Drawing and others, Communicative English for Engineers.

Besides this, the students will have a variety of elective subjects to choose from.

B.Tech in Engineering Physics 

The latest B.Tech programme in Engineering Physics will include Physics Fundamentals, Engineering Drawing, Environmental Science, Electronics, Mathematics and Chemistry, Hands-on Workshop practices, Computational Techniques. It is also a 4 year undergraduate course.

However, the objective of the programme is to blend Electrical Engineering and Contemporary Physics for the candidates who are equally comfortable with both Technology and Science.

B.Tech in Engineering Physics: Eligibility Criteria

As per the information shared, candidates appearing for the B.Tech in Engineering Physics will get shortlisted on the basis of IIT-JEE examination score secured by the students.
