Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai has collaborated with Wipro GE Healthcare Private Limited (WGE) to significantly increase opportunities for research scholars to build and improve the innovation ecosystem.
Under WGE’s fellowship partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), the chosen Masters (MS) Research Scholars will be benefited from provided financial aid and industrial expertise.
MS programs’ research scholars of IIT Madras will be offered a nine month long internship opportunity at Wipro GE Healthcare Private Limited (WGE).

Azim Premji, Chairman at WGE stated that with the usage of digital technologies, the world of healthcare is getting transformed that can even address the toughest healthcare challenges.
He added that the transformation of India’s healthcare can be accelerated with a collaborative ecosystem between academia partners and industries.
Through this partnership between IIT Madras and WGE, they wish to mentor students’ innovative ideas to help them develop affordable healthcare solutions. These healthcare solutions will help the needy across India, Azim Premji further quoted.

Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director of IIT Madras stated that this collaboration between IITM and WGE will provide a chance to research scholars to work on diverse healthcare projects.
Additionally, being mentored by Wipro GE Healthcare’s industry experts will prove a beneficial and rich experience for IITM research scholars.
WGE aims to develop an innovation mindset in research scholar students with engineering skills. They also aim to provide industrial exposure in the healthcare domain and other technology areas of the company through close collaboration with technical experts.
