Samsung India has recently offered fellowship awards under its ‘Samsung Innovation Campus’ to 130 research scholars of IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati. The fellowship has been offered to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
With the Samsung Innovation Campus citizenship program, Samsung India aims to offer support to research scholars and promote research. The innovative program will offer youth a chance to use technology for social good.
Samsung India has selected as many as 100 undergraduates and 30 postgraduate engineering students of IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati for the Samsung Innovation Campus Fellowship Program 2021.
IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati students have been selected from various branches of engineering, which include chemical, mechanical, biotechnology, electrical, ocean, CSE, engineering design, civil, metallurgical, materials and aerospace, among others.
Final year engineering students of BTech, Dual Degree (BTech + MTech), and MTech/M.S. (Research) who are working on software and hardware projects will be offered financial support through the fellowship program.
Under the program, selected undergraduate students will now be offered with a stipend of Rs 6,000 per month, while postgraduate students will be provided with Rs 25,000 per month under the fellowship program.
IIT Guwahati to offer BTech in Data Science and AI
Additionally, students who are working on projects related to traffic estimation and dynamic control of traffic lights, anti-cancer drug research, and intrusion detection system to power management for electric vehicles will be provided with financial support for the same.
Talking about the initiative, Deokho Kim, Managing Director, Samsung Research & Development Institute, Delhi said, “Samsung R&D Institute India, Delhi has been working towards enhancing research and innovation among students at IITs, especially those from weaker sections of the society”.
