Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur has included a new Bachelor of Science (BS) program in its course list from the ongoing academic session 2021-2022. The course will replace the existing integrated MSc course of the institute.
Post the launch of the four-year duration Bachelor of Science (BS) program at the Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Kharagpur, the institute’s existing five-year integrated Master of Science (MSc) will be replaced from this year onwards.
With the addition of a new BS course, students will be offered the option to apply for an MS degree during their 6th semester of the BS program. Additionally, students who wish to get an MS degree can apply for it during the 7th and 8th semesters of the BS program.

As per the official statement made by IIT Kharagpur, “Those who would like to earn an MS degree would be given an option to do so at the end of 6th Semester of the 4-yr BS program".
"Accordingly, 7th and 8th semesters would be planned so that a candidate gets an MS degree at the end of the 10th semester" the officials further added.
Those who are interested in IIT Khagarpur BS Course 2021 can apply for various specializations under the course, such as applied geology, chemistry, economics, exploration geophysics, mathematics and computing, and physics.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur is now preparing a detailed course curriculum along with admission guidelines and other details. The details will be released on the official website of the institute for all interested candidates to check at iitkgp.ac.in.
Earlier, the institute has called about 500 final-year IITK BTech Students on campus for offline classes from November 2021. The decision to commence offline classes for B.Tech students was made after receiving the survey data.
As per the survey data, the institute recorded that about 42% of the students were facing internet connectivity issues during the online class commencement. To ensure the smooth commencement of classes, the offline class notice was sent to B.Tech students of the institute.
