IIT Kanpur launches four new e-Masters programmes; likely to commence from August


The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has decided to launch four e-Masters programmes to ensure a smooth online learning experience.

The e-Master programmes at IIT Kanpur will be offered for specializations including Cybersecurity, Economics & Management, Communication Systems, and Power Sector Regulation.

It has also been notified that these e-master programmes will begin from the second week of August 2021. Interested candidates can fill the application form from July 2021. 

The authorities of IIT Kanpur will update all the details related to the course dates, eligibility, total fees and other admission procedures along with the application form later on the official IIT Kanpur website.

In his recent tweet, Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Union Education Minister said that these e-master programmes will likely help the employed professionals from various industries and backgrounds to improve their employability and enhance their skill sets.

The director of IIT Kanpur, Abhay Karandikar, stated that to be effective and remain relevant in the evolving scenarios, the professionals are required to upgrade their knowledge and keep up with the latest developments and trends in the diverse fields. 

Therefore, it has become imperative to provide access to a complete ecosystem of knowledge. Now, the IIT Kanpur is all set to introduce an e-Masters degree program to address the said requirement. The program will also help people to enhance their qualifications by receiving a formal degree in state of the art areas, tweeted the director.

About IIT Kanpur’s E-Master programme

All the four e-master programmes at IIT Kanpur will be conducted in online mode wherein the classes will be taken by the expert faculties of IIT Kanpur. Within the allotted time frame, the candidates will be expected to complete an allotted number of courses. Along with the online classes, candidates will also have to go through an on-campus practical training which will consist of laboratory visits and sessions for about two weeks.
