The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is all set to offer a 5-day online course on practical numerical methods using python.
The IIT Kanpur’s 5-day online course will not be entirely theoretical and a major part of it will be dedicated to encourage the students to solve the real-time problems.
The online course will cover basic elements of python programming along with numerical algorithms, and the Python implementation of these algorithms. All the difficulties in solving the exercises will be addressed by the teaching assistants through the real-time interactions.

The institute has planned to teach the 5-day online course in a blended format through live lectures, pre-recorded videos, live questions, and answer sessions.
Mahendra Kumar Verma, professor at Department of Physics at IIT Kanpur will conduct the course and each day, there will be two hours of lectures followed by three hours of supervised problem solving on prutor.ai with appropriate breaks in between.
Participants will also receive slides and video recordings of the lectures and they will be evaluated on the basis of a final quiz and a small python project. Upon the successful completion of the 5-day online course, participants will receive certificates based on merit.
