IIT Hyderabad Placement 2020 Records 222 Offers in Phase-1 Campus Placement; Check Details Here


IIT Hyderabad Placement 2020: The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT-Hyderabad has recorded the placement of 222 students during phase-1 of the campus placement drive conducted between December 1, and December 6, 2020.

IIT Hyderabad students have received 30 international offers from 63 companies in the first placement phase. Additionally, In 2020, the entire placement drive was conducted virtually due to the widespread COVID-19 circumstances across the country.

IIT Hyderabad Placement 2020: Highlights 

IIT Hyderabad Placement 2020 had begun on a very positive note with the 48 Pre-Placement Offers (PPO), as opposed to 37 PPOs in the previous academic year. Further, the institute will start the phase-II of placements in January 2021.

For the placement year 2020-21, the institute has received 30 international offers from 8 companies from Taiwan and Japan. The institute is expecting more international offers in phase-II.

The students of IIT-H had received 38 international offers from 15 companies across 3 countries (Japan, USA, and Taiwan), for the placement year 2019-20.

Over 500 students from different departments had registered for IIT Hyderabad placement. For the first phase of placement, a total of 116 companies had registered, down from 150 companies in phase-I of 2019-20. Last year, a total of 244 companies had registered including 15 start-up companies.

A total of 206 students have already been placed at the end of phase-I placements for the academic year 2020-21. This rounds to a favorable comparison with overall 295 students including 37 PPOs.

For circuit branches this year, the premier institute has crossed more than 75% of placement during the first phase. The offers so far are mostly from the IT/ ITES sector with few in the core sector as well.

The Faculty In-charge of placements, Dr. Pradeep Yemula speaking on this matter stated that they have anticipated a slowdown because of the pandemic and are trying to strengthen their teams of students to adapt to the changing scenario.
