IIT Hyderabad Introduces BTech in Electrical Engineering With Specialization In Integrated Circuits

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, is now offering BTech in Electrical Engineering degree, emphasizing IC (Integrated Circuit) design and technology. The program aims to train top-tier IC design and production experts in the theories and methods of fabless chip manufacture.

As per IIT Hyderabad, the programme will offer students summer and semester-long Industrial internships to cope with the market demand. Interested candidates can apply at ee.iith.ac.in to enroll for the course.

The current ongoing technology revolution in electronics and computers is founded on semiconductor integrated circuits (ICs). In order to help India become an important center for electronics manufacturing and design, the Indian government has recently launched the India Semiconductor Mission.

Students will learn electrical engineering principles in the first two years of the curriculum before spending the following two years in-depth in either IC Design or IC Manufacturing. Students will learn about this programme from academic institutions and professionals in the international industry, in addition to the professors at IIT Hyderabad.

Key Features of The Program

  • Curriculum created after discussing with industry.
  • Instruction using cutting-edge design tools and machinery on the job
  • For over ten years, IITH has successfully provided an MTech course in microelectronics and VLSI.
  • This curriculum also offers the possibilities of minors and honours. To obtain them, the student must finish 12 more credits.
  • Opportunities during the programme for industry internships

The curriculum for both BTech in EE and BTech in Electrical Engineering (IDT) overlaps in the first two years. The third and fourth years of the BTech program focus on IC Design and Technology coursework.
