IIT Delhi Scholarship Program 2021: On the occasion of IIT Delhi's Endowment Fund Board 2nd anniversary, the institute has announced the establishment of the “Endowment Merit Scholarship” and “Endowment Nutrition Fund” on October 20, 2021.
With this initiative, the Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi aims to encourage and support students of different diversity in academic excellence and entrepreneurship.
IIT Delhi Endowment Fund Board under its Endowment Merit Scholar Program will offer merit scholarships to a total of 120 students every year. The scholarships will be offered to a batch of 15 girls and 15 boys of the B.Tech/dual degree program.
The Endowment Nutrition Fund of IIT Delhi is aiming to encourage graduate students in the field of entrepreneurship by providing them with the seeds of Funding for their proposed ventures.
While talking about the initiative, Professor V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi and Chairman of the Endowment Fund Board, said, “It is encouraging to have the collective support of our alumni to realize the vision of the institute”.
“The “Endowment Merit Scholarship” and “Endowment Nutrition Fund” initiative of IIT Delhi has also helped the institute to connect with the alumni at a deeper level and engage them in various activities” he added.
IIT Delhi Introduces BTech in Energy Engineering
As per the announcement made by the institute, the Endowment Board is now preparing to increase its funding for the scholarship from Rs 3.20 crore annually in the coming years. As of now, the funds have been paid out of the earnings of the Endowment Fund.
Earlier, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi alumnus Mohit Aron has endowed the IITD Department of Computer Science and Engineering with an amount of USD 1 Million.
With this initiative, the IIT Delhi will now develop its department as one of the leading Computer Science departments of the world under the assistance of Mohit Aron.
