IIT Delhi Placement Phase 1 Concludes, Students Get Over 925 Job Offers, Check Details Here


Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi recently concluded the first phase of placements. A statement released by the institute said that over 925 job offers were made to students during the placement process which was conducted online in the view of COVID-19 situation.

The report by IIT Delhi stated that 925 job offers include pre-placement offers (PPOs) extended to members of the graduating batch of 2020-21.

This placement season the top recruiters at IIT Delhi were Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Tata Projects, EXL Services, ICICI Bank, Goldman Sachs, HCL, Wells Fargo and IQVIA.

On the other hand, International offers included offers received from countries like Japan, Middle East, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.

While more than 20 selections for international profiles has been confirmed till now. This year the placement commenced at most established IITs, including IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras, on December 1. Despite the COVID-19 situation, the first phase of IIT placements has shown promising results.

IIT Delhi Placement: Participating Companies

During this placement season, several companies who have multi-national operations have presently offered students for domestic roles which are expected to be converted to international offers depending on the situation.

Highlighting the sectoral trend data for the first phase of the placement season, Anishya Madan, head, the office of career services at IIT Delhi, said: “Most students have opted for jobs in their technical core. Since IT and Analytics are core to some departments like computer science, mathematics and computing etc.; companies registering under the ‘finance’ track are recruiting for fintech roles and companies registering under ‘other’ sector also comprise many ‘core’ sector companies. Further, management students opted for management roles. We can say that around 90% of students have bagged offers in their core sector.”

The statement further said that more than 400 organisations across sectors offering over 675 job profiles have registered as of now for hiring the students. 

The statement also higlighted that many recruiters are also expected to recruit students in the second phase of the virtual placement season which will begin at the end of January and continue till May 2021.
