IIT Delhi Partners with CSC to Promote Design and Innovation Among Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs); Read Details Here


December 31, 2020: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi announced their collaboration with the Common Services Center (CSC) Academy to set up a design-led innovation lab aimed to help the rural entrepreneurs. 

IIT Delhi will be working with Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the Ministry of Electronics and IT for researching on the innovations in Rural Entrepreneurship.

The design is called "Design and innovation in VLE 's Indigeous Network Ecosystem" or "DIVINE'' for promoting Village Level Entrepreneurship. Around 3.75 Lakhs CSCs across the country will be involved in the project.

The "DIVINE" lab is expected to provide research and generate employment opportunities in the rural areas with its new products and services for VLE's. 

The lab will develop digital content for new skills and education courses for VLE's. Since the areas have low internet connection and no idea about digital media, the partnership between VLE's and CSC will enhance the standard of living for rural areas. It will be a vital factor for the growth of rural entrepreneurship.

CSC SPV Managing Director Dr.Dinesh Tyagi says that day to day problems will be resolved by digital connectivity in rural areas and the experience of VLE will bring educational support and create a base for grassroots innovations. The Design lab will create a balanced entrepreneurial ecosystem with the help of IIT Delhi's unparalleled expertise.

Prof Ramgopal Rao, Director of IIT Delhi Institute shared his vision while collaborating with CSC to identify network issues and resolve problems in rural areas of the country. With the help of VLE's, India can enhance its entrepreneurial outlook.
