Neilom Prize 2021: Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi's recently graduated students, Richa Gupta and Girish Yadav have jointly received the Neilom Prize 2021 for their contribution in Empowering People with Disabilities.
The recent graduates of Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Richa Gupta and Girish Yadav have received a cash prize of INR 1 lakh under the Neilom Prize 2021 for their work in space of assistive technology.
Neilom Prize 2021 has been awarded by the Neilom Foundation, Maryland, US. The prize aims to inspire students and enthusiasts to contribute to finding resolutions to the various problems related to humanity. The foundation goal is to make recipients the leaders of tomorrow.

Referring to the contributions of Dr. Gupta and Yadav, Prof M Balakrishnan, Founder, Assistech Laboratory, IIT Delhi said, “Successive generation of students and research staff who have worked in this space with passion and commitment are responsible for whatever success ASSISTECH has got in the last 15 years of its existence”.
“We are thankful to Prof. Anand for establishing the Neilom prize, which recognizes the work done by these young graduates” he further added.
Richa Gupta has recently completed her Ph.D. from Khosla School of Information Technology, IIT Delhi and is now working as an assistant professor in human-centered design at the campus.
She has completed her BTech in mechanical engineering from IIITDM, Jabalpur, and secured her Master of Design (MDes) degree from one of the top institutes in India, Institute of Technology Bombay.
Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi graduate Richa Gupta has also worked at the IIT Delhi campus as a project scientist in Assistech Laboratory which adds to her overall work experience and education.
Additionally, she has contributed one year to study and work in the industrial design of various assistive devices in the space of accessible education and mobility.
On the other hand, the IIT Delhi graduate, Girish Yadav completed his BTech in Production and Industrial Engineering from IIT Delhi. After completing his undergraduate course, he further completed his MDes degree from IIT Delhi itself.
As of now, Girish Yadav is a well-known co-founder of a technology product design, and manufacturing company called Flexmo. The company focuses on providing solutions to people elderly and people dealing with locomotor disabilities.
