IIT Bombay to Launch Rahul Bajaj Technology Innovation Centre on June 10

New Delhi: IIT Bombay will inaugurate the Rahul Bajaj Technology Innovation Centre on its campus on June 10, 2022. The inauguration will take place on account of late Rahul Bajaj’s birthday, who was the chairman of the board of governors of IIT Bombay. 

During the occasion, IIT Bombay will also honour the late Rahul Bajaj's contributions in establishing the institute as an eminent organisation. According to an official release, the event will be live-streamed on the institute's official YouTube account.

Subhasis Chaudhuri, the Director of IIT Bombay, will deliver the keynote speech. The event will also include Niraj Bajaj, chairman of Bajaj Auto Ltd. and chief guest Mashelkar.

As the chief guest, RA Mashelkar, former director-general of CSIR, will conduct the inauguration of the innovation centre. Mashelkar was the president of the Indian National Science Academy, the National Innovation Foundation, and the Global Research Alliance, among other organisations. During the ceremony, members of the Bajaj family will also be present. 

IIT Bombay claims, "Innovation, entrepreneurship, research and development were close to his heart. Late Shri. Rahul Bajaj's generous donation helped the Institute to build a Centre that brings together all of these activities, under one roof, in a modern building".

Recently, IIT Bombay has also launched its new ‘Master in Development Practice’programme for the academic session 2022-23. Admission to IIT Bombay for the programme is now open on the institute's website till June 19, 2022. The programme will be offered to students under its Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas (CTARA). 

This one-year-long academic programme of IIT Bombay is open to interested students, and professionals with master's degrees. Interested applicants who have completed their four-year degree in engineering, technology, planning, and architecture or in any other equivalent domain and have a work experience of at least 24 months can now submit their applications.
