IIT-BHU Collaborates with Niigata University to Conduct Joint Research Student Exchange Programmes; Check Details Here


New Delhi: IIT BHU, Varanasi and Niigata University, Japan have collaborated to conduct joint research and student exchange programmes. 

In order to promote student exchange and cooperation in education, joint research, conducting lectures and symposiums and participation of students/faculty members, the IIT BHU and Niigata University have signed an agreement.

During the online event for signing the agreement, IIT-BHU director Prof Pramod Kumar Jain and President of the Niigata University, Prof Tatsuo Ushiki mentioned that the collaboration will help establish strong collaboration between the two institutes.

The partnership will also encourage students to be selected and nominated by the home university.

According to the agreement, Niigata University and IIT BHU, will have to ensure that an equal number of students from each institution are exchanged and participated.

As a part of the agreement, both the universities will set up procedures and selection of exchange students based on their academic achievements. 

Moreover, the host university will have to waive examination fees, entrance fees, and tuition fees for the exchanging of students.

Vikash Kumar Dubey, Dean (R&D), gave a comprehensive presentation about the research activities at IIT-BHU by different departments and schools, during the initial process of this agreement. 

Dubey also highlighted some of the other possible areas of an academic partnership between the two universities.

On the other hand, Prof Nozomu Tsuboi, Vice President, Global Engagement, Niigata University, gave a detailed presentation about the university and the possibility of future collaborations. 

In addition, a thorough presentation regarding the different research activities in the area of optics-photonics instrumentation, was given by Prof Takamasa Suzuki.
